hi everybody,

I am currently saving up for a skywatcher neq6 pro synscan (only a couple hundred pound to go) once i have that i will then start saving for a scope but in the mean time i will want to connect my canon 1100d to the mount for widefield astrophotography. can i do this straight out of the box or do i need to buy additional parts?

the neq6 comes with a dovetail, if you have a drill you can drill a clearance hole for either a 1/4" or 3/8" whitworth bolt and then either mount the camera directly to the dovetail (which limits the fine adjustment of the camera) or mount a tripod head to the dovetail and then add the camera (this gives a lot of flexibility)

A short (12cm) Vixen type solid dovetail, now supplied with 2x 1/4" camera screws. You can attach your DSLR camera, binoculars or small scope directly to any mount with a Vixen type saddle (Vixen GP, Celestron CG5, Skywatcher EQ5, HEQ5, EQ6 etc). The Deluxe Photo Dovetail has an elongated slot and is very solid and versatile.
