It should just go there on 'goto' although some will just stop if you are viewing when it goes past the meridian. If your goto has an 'allow meridian flip' setting, I think it does it for you and gives a warning.

Have to say I've never tried it myself.

Typed by me on my fone, using fumms... Excuse eny speling errurs.

Hi all:

If I initially use my goto on my 9.25sct and Jupiter is to the west, will it go there...past the meridian, I mean? If so I would then have to do a meridian flip?

Thanks again

Cheers

Roger

Hi Roger. If your 9.25 SCT is fork mounted, then I didn't think that a meridian flip is ever needed, as the lower end of the tube cannot hit the tripod at any position.

If it is mounted on a German EQ, maybe it's possible for contact to occur between tube and mount at some positions ?

Or maybe I'm not grasping your enquiry properly.

Regards, Ed.
