Social night Wednesday 27th feb

Wednesday (tomorrow) night the Compasses Inn Gomshall. I think James may be there first, around 7:30pm onwards.

Yup, I will be there at 19:30. For those that haven't met me (and won't recognise me) I'm in my early 30s and will have a 1.25" eye piece + a copy of astronomy now on the table in front of me. I will probably have a bowl of chips of well.

I'll bring a small refractor and a copy of The Sky at Night :-)

I'll try and get there around the same time as Lee. I'll be the fat bloke with the eyepatch and the parrot.

I can vouch for the beer. I tried ' Drop from the Surrey Hills Brewery based in Dorking. It was very nice

As a newbie, it was great to get a chance to meet more experienced guys over a beer, rather than in the dark, freezing our posteriors off!

will try to come to a dark night - as long as fitness allows. Will also look at solar scope as suggested; you were right by the way, Lunt's aren't cheap...

Lunt's can be a touch dear but maybe within reach. Until you start looking at the larger blocking filters and double stacking. Then it starts getting silly!
