good viewing of orion tonight

Hi,

Enjoying very clear views of the good old orion nebular this evening, oddly i'm seeing more nebulosity with a 10mm eye piece on my 80mm refractor rather than the 25mm which is usually best on m42.

I have had a good night too. its been lovely and clear for a few hours now , the Orion nebular does look excellent tonight.

I also found my viewing was better with the12mm in comparrison to the 25mm tonight - strange how it works out sometimes.

Does anyone know why this could be ?

its not just me then! good to know i guess it must be the something to do with atmospheric conditions. enjoy your viewing.

Gosh it is clear tonight got my first decent view of M47!

All in all a fab nights viewing, Jupiter, M45, M47, M42, Betelgeuse looking ready to explode (so red) what more can you ask?

Yes I think it was a very good night all round. Managed to see a lot of new Messier objects, so e of which have eluded me for ages. Well chuffed, and a lovely night out in the fresh air as well. Perfect!
