Its been a fairly big story over here for the last couple of days but mainly because Mel Gibson, Pamela Anderson etc were affected. :smiley:

At least the observatory is OK...

That looked like a close call. I had a look round Palomar a couple of years ago, it's so quiet and peaceful up there. Good to know it's OK.

I don't think there is an astronomer on the planet, amateur or pro. who does not have a feeling of awe for Palomar.

Unfortunately the news here was conserned what would happen when the enhancements melted :shock: :evil::(:)

Good news that the winds are reducing and the site is safe.

I'd expect that type of "reporting" from the US, but not the staid BBC!? Time to move off-planet, I guess. :smiley:
