First test with moded PST

Like the title says.

I had to test out how easy it is to focus the PST after the mod to its tube length.

If this first attempt is anything to go by things are looking promising...

Not a bad start Jamie. Things can only get better, and anyway, fairly obvious prominences visible, so the scope is doing it's job.

I know little or nothing about PST's, but I like seeing the images that come from them. Besides, winters coming, so the more solar images we see the better.

Ron.

Hi KK

The test in this case is to see just how easy it is to bring the PST to focus using a webcam as the desired camera. (with no barlow) The mod that has been done here is a shortening of the tube on the PST to aid me in achieving focus. (seeing as with the newer PST's you can't do any modifications to the focuser side of the scope).

This seems to have worked very well for a first try on a camera tripod.

The other project is on the go as we speak... 8)
