Hi Iam just learning astrophotography with a webcam but I need some advice on the type of tracking tripod that I would need for a Sky-Watcher Skyliner-200P Classic Parabolic Dobsonian Telescope any advice would be much welcome.

Cheers

You are realistically looking at an HEQ5 for the 200P and astrphotography.

The OTA is sold on an EQ5 but that is aimed at the visual sdie where the tracking is not so critical. The HEQ5 should handle the weight with a little spare capacity. Not sure if the tracking accuracy is sufficent with both the weight and the focal length. The 200P has a fair focal length and tracking errors are exaggerated by this.

Better would be the EQ6/NEQ6.

Have to agree there. Im the biggest fan of trying to make rubbishy mounts work but the 200p is a long old tube, lots of surface area for the wind to catch too. HEQ5 is really the minimum answer, if thats way off budget then a smaller mount with smaller tools on it. Camera and lens or small refractor for example.
