Any help with the above would be fantastic.

Not sure if it was a bargain but £12.00 from Fleabay not too bad i thought,

post-11075-0-80455300-1358103548_thumb.j

it's clean, no mould / fungus & it turns clean & very smooth action so far so good, now i guess i need a M42 adapter to use this on my 600D, something like this maybe :- http://www.amazon.co...58103173&sr=8-3

I was after a wider lens than my kit 18-55 did i make a half sensible purchase ?

Thanks for comments & taking a look.

I think you will have a problem, I think its the stop down lever on the K mount that stops the lens being allowed to sit close enough to the sensor to get infinity focus.

Not possible but I maybe wrong. T mount or M42 I think are the choices for Canons

You'll find plenty of adaptors on ebay http://www.ebay.co.u...=item51a51cc2cc

for the cost of the lens if it's "clean" you can't go wrong at £12, some of the M42 SMC coated lenses are real gems once they are stopped down. Even if you find they are not quite up to astro use they can produce some really nice terrestrial shots - I think you got a nice bargain.

The pentax forum is a great source of info for reviews and examples of M42 lenses

Not quite. Contax mount to Canon EOS adapters also exist (expensive but they exist). The flange-to-image-plane distance is the key factor. Pentax K is also available, with infinity focus, and they do not need to cost the earth:

I have to admit i am terrible @ ' buying things (apart from my sig stuff), i saw a post from Gina about an SMC lens & had heard only good about thwem, i was after a very wide lens & found the above, pretty good glass i gather & can't wait to try it out once i have an adapter.

Thanks all i can stop swetting now & i can tell the wife she can stop laughing :hello2:
