Hi

I reprocessed the M42 data I had without the bad flats and tried to use manual gradient removal with some success.

I also tried to eke out a bit more detail in the core and made a star mask in DSS to bump saturation on the stars.

The colors are really off compared to what I'm used to seeing. Not sure if it's my camera, my settings or just me not having a clue.

Still the result is a bit better. I suppose I should be happy as long as I feel I learn something along the way.

Thanks for looking.

Thank you all. At first I thought there was something off with how DSS interprets the bayer matrix on my camera, but now I realise that this is basicly the color my reference JPGs get right from the camera (shooting RAW+JPG). I guess this is just my camera's way of doing it :)
