M42 reprocess

Hi

I reprocessed the M42 data I had without the bad flats and tried to use manual gradient removal with some success.

I also tried to eke out a bit more detail in the core and made a star mask in DSS to bump saturation on the stars.

The colors are really off compared to what I'm used to seeing. Not sure if it's my camera, my settings or just me not having a clue.

Still the result is a bit better. I suppose I should be happy as long as I feel I learn something along the way.

Nice image really really caught the running man.Like you said the colour doesnt seem right with m42 it lacks red but still plenty of detail there

Good shot Carl , though can't recall the original shot for comparison. Great detail in there and nice saturation and depth - looks good to my as yet untrained eye.

Thank you all. At first I thought there was something off with how DSS interprets the bayer matrix on my camera, but now I realise that this is basicly the color my reference JPGs get right from the camera (shooting RAW+JPG). I guess this is just my camera's way of doing it

As one of the other posts says up the red a bit and it should be perfect .
