Focal Ratio and performance?

Dobs can, with diffiulty, be used with webcams for planetary imaging. They can't be used for deep sky unless so wired, motorized, computerized and technologized that they cease to be Dobs! The quick 'real world' answer is 'No deep sky imaging in Dobs.'

yeah i guessed as much for imaging on Dobs, will wait untill I have a more appropriate telescope for photography i guess.

Now that I've got a much better idea of what telescope I want, I think I'll brave the used market, see what turns up.

browsing used markets without an idea of what ur looking for is painful at best lol

The best scope is the one you use most so it's best to test you can carry and set it up without stress. Bigger scopes can have a downside :rolleyes: I think a 8" Dob is a good compromise augmented by a good pair of binos for the widefield stuff :cool:
