Disengaging EQ5 RA motor

I recently got the RA motor for my EQ5, one of the downsides i realised is that i can no longer use the slow mo RA control, as its turning all the cogs etc, its too difficult to turn and might damage something. This can be a real pain when trying to find something new and needed to slow mo around the area.

It talks on the instructions about disengaging the motor so you can use the slow mo knobs and then simply re-engaging it. But i cant for the life of me figure out how to do this, surely you don’t need to unscrew the little box the cogs are housed in everytime?

I am at work at the moment, but can get pictures of the mount + motor later on if it makes my problem any clearer.

The final drive gear is held by a knurled nut - If you undo this the slo-mo knob should turn freely. Retighten to go back to motor drive.

Is that the one that sticks out of the cog housing bit? Pardon my ignorance, not had much of a chance to use it since i got it with nothing but cloud and the instructions were rather useless.

Yup - The brass one with the finger grip grooves around it.

I remember unscrewing this one and the RA didnt seem to move freely. I will set up when i get home and see if it was something else stopping it.

With my EQ3-2 I just tend to release the clutches, get what I want in the field of view, lock the clutches up and then fine-tune with the motor drive.

That was it thanks Roger, it was just really stiff first time i went to move it so didnt think it was working
