Celestron CG5-GT Goto Mount

Just got the cg5 mount for Christmas from FLO My question is . What kind of Polar scope goes in it my old EQ 3 is to large a diameter and dont want to get a new one from FLO and find you just remove all the fittings and replace with large diameter size . I thought they where all almost universal . Can anyone give information on the RA scale vernier ..... Its Fixed !!!!! to the mount and does not rotate with the shaft like I expected it to. All my friends at Macc Astro are off for the Yuletide break ,so as yet I cant get any advise . Help Please !

The only "universal" polar scope was the old push fit type which are hard to come by these days but used to fit practically all synta mounts.

I bought the cg5 polarscope when I got the mount, used it a couple of times but don't bother now , you can set everything up via the handset (or even looking up the hole)

I agree with billhinge. I got the polar scope when I bought my CG5, used it a couple of times, and now I don't bother. Just setup close by looking through the hole in the RA axis and then use the PA routine in the handset.

same as for me dont waste your money, hand set polar aliegn very accurate.
