DSS Raw and Fits settings

In the DSS user manual help files it tells you about the setting for raw and fits. It shows a picture of the tab with the 3 colour adjustment boxes. 1. brightness 2. red 3. blue. all boxes have values of 1.0000 entered as default. The text tells you this...

.About the channels balance it is very important to enter the good values used by your DSLR.

The values for the Red and Blue scales are relative to the Green.

The luminance adjustment applies to all three channels.

Does anyone know what this means or what values can be entered for a 1100d

It says you can find out about it from the DCRAW website, but I can find no information about this.

No idea - I just use DSS with the settings reccommended in the software itself.

Thanks Gina. A search of the internet and Dave Coffins website was fruitless. Perhaps I'll play with them and see what happens.

I have played with the red adjustment in the past, putting it down to 0.8 but it doesn't seem to do anything that you can't sort in post processing.
