Targets for tonight?

Assuming of course there are clear skies tonight Would anyone mind posting some easy first time targets that i might go for tonight around 9pm. Have a 200pds heq5 500d.

ah sorry i meant DSO. I got a shot of the moon the other night Want to try and start with some "Easier" DSO.

Try looking for the double cluster near Cassiopia its virtually straight overhead this time of year and makes a truly awesome sight at low magnification easy one to find in a pair of binos first.

I'd also be interested to know what DSOs make good targets (if any) when the moon is this bright? Looking outside it's nice and clear, as is the forecast!

Totally overcast here. As for DSOs all I can suggest is going for something quite bright as far away from the moon as possible. Otherwise maybe narrow band if you're into that.

No way clear skies! I am 60 miles south of you in Nottingham and its cloudy as anything (as usual ). I hope it clears for you though but I am not optimistic...

I've got the CLS-CCD, does that count as narrow band?

I'm afraid not - that's a light pollution filter for street lights. Narrow band filters pass a very narrow part of the spectrum produced by nebulae (called Ha, OIII, SII etc.).
