Budget binoculars after mishap

I had a mishap at weekend dropped my bins one side snapped off was directed here as i have seen these i wanted to know if there any good as im on a tight budget with Christmas round the corner, if not could someone point to a good cheap pair please http://www.ebay.co.u...tem3ca2a4a942e.

i would say your better off looking for a old pair of zeiss or similar as these bins often had cracking quailty lens and on ebay you can pick them up pretty cheaply

Ive been looking on ebay but ive been told there's a lot of forgery s about especially Russian ones which are not, so im a bit dubious as im not sure how to check and what to look for to make sure im buying the right make. Could say Zeiss and be a Chinese/Japanese ripoff.

i guess you could be in that suituation, but surely the copys wernt arround in the 50's to 70's of these certain ones, iv hered charity shops are a great place as well

Yes thanks never thought of going in cash converters and places like that see what they had.

I got a pair of "broken" Yashica built 7x50 bins which I was going to scavenge for parts for absolutely nothing from a camera store. I found that tightening three screws in the diopter adjustment ring, and a few tweaks of the collimation screws sorted all the problems, and my kids now thoroughly enjoy them. Not the FOV of modern bins, but very decent quality indeed, especially for free. Hunt around in "bargain bins of camera stores, or simply ask.

michael.h.f.wilkinson I will do as you suggested and im unlucky both my local camera shops in St.Helens have closed down i bet they had some they just threw away.
