Hi Cloudycat, How is the light polution over there in Liverpool? I'm in Chester but my back yard wasn't too bad until they built an old peoples home behind my house and now the security lights are on most of the time :-(

Hi Mike, I'm right on the north end of the suburbs (Crosby, not Liverpool, strictly speaking), - to the west and north isn't too bad as it's over the Irish sea or looking away from the city but facing any way southwards is quite orangey plus I've also got sheltered accomadation with their security lights, and a sodding big street light as well!

I guess you're quite handy for North Wales and some decent dark sky sites, or I think Delamere Forest has been mentioned on here as well.

If you've any tips on a good site I'd appreciate it.

I haven't taken my scope out at all yet, I'm saving that delight until I get a new one. The forest does look like a good bet but I would need to find an open space to see over the Trees!
