guiding at F9 with a finder guider

my question is whats best to guide at long FL, 2 weeks ago i had good results with the finder guider @ 200 secs and then just before i started guiding with the same settings and ended up wit star trails @ 250 secs. i cant understand why? i tried 200 secs and also ended up with trails. can any one help. images are croped @66% to show trails
