I think I'm about to spend some money!

Well, after thinking for some time about a new scope and thinking about what type of observing I spend most of my time on, I think I might be about to buy a Skymax 180 mak to replace my venerable old 6'' f8 achro.

I intend to fit a crayford and invest in a couple of new eyepieces so the total will be over £1000!!!

I wouldn't normally spend that on a car!

This is a lot of money but I sure I'll love it for planets & doubles etc.

Even so, I would love a bit of input from owners out there just to reassure me about my impending purchase.

Haha, my camera is worth more than my car too.

lets face it though, a car will get you from A.-B, but will it get you to the stars.

I agree! Lets face it, a telescope is a lot more important than a car so should cost more!

I just this week spent 300 quid on a new laptop and 400 quid on a Flea3 camera for planet imaging. My set up costs more than anything i think i've owned in my life. I'm lucky i don't have a car!
