Interesting Meade LX50 on UK AB&S

The report calls it a schmidt-cassegrain but I have to admit in my ignorance. I don't actually know the difference.:eek:

The maksutov-cassegrain has a smaller secondary mirror and a longer focal length - F/15 compared to the schmidt-cassegrains (SCT's) F/10. The mak-cass was a rather specialised scope. Most LX50's were SCT's. If it's a good one it's an amazing bargain - I think they cost over £2,000 new !
