Found this lovely article on the treasures of Lepus. Now that Orion is launched higher in the early hour sky, it's time to search out the hare;

I've found M79 as quite faint. Given it's location and history, little wonder. It also appears in Patrick's Winter challenge.

Most of these are not in PSA, including the stunning asterism NGC2017. This area is in the next inner arm of the galaxy ( Monoceros/Taurus) and well worth noting,

While further south earlier in the year I was shown R Leporis / Hind's Crimson star and it is brake-light red
