Lunar & Planetary Images

Recommended Posts

Hi. I'm a newbie so forgive me if I say something daft.

I recently invested in a Celestron 8 SE and am now wondering about taking some images. I want to start off somewhere reasonably straightforward and so am thinking of some shots of the moon and any planets that show their face.

From the research I've done a lot of folks seem to use a Philips SPC900NC even though this now seems quite old technology. Is it worth going for that or something newer? I've been steered towards a QHY5 or 5v or a Neximage 5mp.

Would the Philips attach to the 'scope?

Any other suggestions. Budget £200 max.

Thx
