Tripod looks suspiciously similar to EQ6 tripod. Or is it actually the same tripod? Tripod pukka still in production I would guess then.

Yes it is the 2" tripod that the standard EQ6 uses.

Any ideas what are the three turning spikes at the beginning of the counterwheight extenshion shaft? What do they lock? Because there also is one T-shaped bolt to tighten the shaft by the look of it. Maybe the extension doesn't slide into the mount.

I trust that FLO in due course will receive all info etc.

I think this mount is one that will appeal to a large number of people.

if it performs as well as the standard one we are in for a treat.

I wasn't into the hobby (at least not into having equipment!) when HEQ5 changed EQ5 and when NEQ6 changed HEQ5. Well, "changed" might not be the right word, but when the newer product hit the market. If anyone can remember, what were the price changes at the time? I wonder will the Alt/Az EQ6 price tag will be comparable with that of the NEQ6 or will be on a totally different price tag altogether.

The last specs I read mentioned its more for visual and no mention of suitability around imaging, although maybe as the specs were not quite defined at that point....

Teleskop-Express wrote on astronomie.de that they did order a lot of them, and the price would be around 2000 EUR. And it's supposed to be stable
