The dust lanes have come out nicely. Next time try and keep your ISO at about 800, and lowering the sub time (take some at 300s and some at 180s). It will be less noisy, and may give you a little more detail. How many subs was this?

It may be worth having another play with it, you seem to have lost a bit of star colour. Your orange/red stars should be more orange/red

Its a great attempt though, it looks good

Yes, very decent result.

You might be able to do a less aggressive stretch just for the core and then layer it in in Ps. This works well for galaxies. If you just put the short stretch underneath you can use a well feathered erasor to remove the burned out top layer.

I agree with you about the high ISO's. I use 3200 to check framing but probably should not have included that sub in 'the stack' as it introduced a lot of noise. The stack was only 3 subs anyway.
