A most excellent evening

A bit damp and dew'y. But great to see Jupiter again, and a first through my 5SE. The motors are a little noisy though when slowing at speed. Had misted over by the time Betelgeuse came above the roof tops, good to see the familiar friend back in the sky.

There was too much wispy cloud around and the moon causing me a bit of grief last night so I packed up by 11:30. I managed to just make out M81 and M82 despite the moon washing most things 'deep sky' out, so it wasn't too bad overall I guess.

I'm still waiting for that elusive glimpse of Jupiter! :)

Hopefully it won't be too long for me to wait :)

Glad you had a good evening :)

There was a fair bit of cloud here so I never bothered to set up, Although when I went to bed at 2:00am I peered out the window & saw Jupiter so I had a quick look at it with my small refractor.

The evening started cloudy, but improved and past midnight there was no moon and the clouds thinned out. Jupiter was so clear if a little bright. I do have a dew shield; though with all the rain we'd had earlier, there was a lot of dampness in the air. A good session does wonders ..
