Reading between the lines,so to speak, I've noticed a lot of people also have a pair of binoculars alongside with their scopes,

What would be a suitable make/size to have?

Most people recommend 10x50, but I prefer my 8x42 because they are lighter to hold. Check people's signature info or read the binocular forum.

Hi,

it's nice to hear from an obvious gear junkie. Keep us up to date on your future purchases.

Cheers,

Mark

He he he, sorry but couldn't resist, but I THINK this will be the last scope as I've now got 4 in total !!

Found out my boss at work is also into astronomy and he's just upgraded to a Meade LTS8- so I bought his old Meade ETX 90EC !!!- nice and cheap too and with a digital camera attachment - just spent the last 1hr and 45mins setting up and playing with my new toy,, got some ok shots of the moon and can honestly say Its really a lot of fun,

apart from slugs everywhere and me treading on them  - its an exciting learning curve,,

Have noticed that everything gets damp- how do you deal with this and keeping warm at the same time???
