Today's overview shot from Travel Scope 50:

And finally my second time-lapse (F/16), this time I have verified focus before every frame:

Approx. 5 minutes between frames. It seems the interval needs to be smaller to capture the boiling of granulation smoothly.

Everything using Point Grey Chameleon mono, Baader ND 3.8, Baader IR/UV cut and Solar Continuum.

Oh My!!!! the close ups are magnificent but the animation just blew me away - amazing work :) you say every 5 minutes but for how long? it is incredible how much the sunspots are moving apart, I have never seen this before.

I don't know how to express how much I love this.

The ND3.8 sure seems to make a difference when imaging. I understand it's for visual but I found the ND5.0 seems to rob images of the finer details no matter what filters are used.

Some great results there and would be interested to see a picture of your setup ;)

I'm glad you like it :)

Alexandra, it's about 2 hours of real time (that includes dodging clouds, so some intervals are longer). Spaceboy, about the ND 5, it's not bad either:

However with it I use only IR/UV cut to keep the shutter time short.

As for the setup... nothing extraordinary there:

(this is with LifeCam attached, but Chameleon is not much bigger). One more thing I need is a motofocuser.
