Finderscope

Im thinking ahead, and looking for a good but not prohibitively expensive finderscope to put on my new Meade Lightbridge. Im likey to add a Telrad at some stage so it would need to fit alongside that. Any suggestions??

I'd guess that something along the lines of a 50mm right angle finder would be suitable. They're not exactly cheap compared with a telrad though. What do you consider "prohibitively expensive"?

When I had a Lightbridge 12" I replaced the supplied red dot finder with an 8x50 right angle finder and a Rigel Quikfinder. I would have used a Telrad in place of the Rigel but the Lightbridge was rather top heavy and the Rigel is lighter. The RA finders are quite pricey (£65) but the RA facility combined with a Telrad / Quikfinder is an extremely useful combination.

Many thanks for the information. Sounds like I could upgrade to a Telrad and a low power right angle finder for about £100.

I have found this to be a very helpful and beautiful bit of equipment: 9x50mm. Viewing from the city, I think I'd be lost without it.
