Venus,Jupiter,ISS, and very large meteor

well having done a all night Sunday i though i better get some sleep last night, and just set the alarm for 3am.quick drive to a dark spot on the beds/cambs border.spent 2 1/2 hours watching Venus and Jupiter rise slowly above the horizon accompanied by the Pleiades and Hyades, very nice! had the added bonus of seeing the ISS and very large shooting star as well.also had to watch the sunrise afterwards, beautiful!

Sounds wonderful. Much better than my reason to set the alarm clock early (but not that early): car needs a new wind shield

Certainly sounds like it was well worth the effort to set the alarm for 3am.

Can't beat a good nights viewing from a dark site followed by watching the sunrise. I haven't managed both together so far this year but I hope to over the next few weeks.

only got this opportunity because of a couple of last minute days off. must try and do it more often it was heaven, even got startled by some muntjac deer walking through tracks in the cornfields
