Eyes on the Sky: July 23 thru July 29

Recommended Posts

In our quest to look ever further and deeper into the Universe we often forget that some of the best objects are right next door - celestially speaking, that is. Watch the motion of Mars against the much-more-distant stars this week as it cruises closer to Saturn (a superb sight in most any scope), and the Moon as it not only slips by those planets, but increases it's phases and alters it's face to us, displaying incredible detail as it does.

EDIT: Hmmm... not sure why the video isn't showing up in the post this week, but click through and it will play, of course.
