Does anybody have a good supplier of casters? I am planning a moving roof 2.5m x 2.8m moving over the warm room.

I have seen the vee gooved casters/wheels running on inverted angle iron (normally used for sliding gates) as anybody used this type of wheel?

Progress to date 9" pier in a 2'x3'x4' foundation and built a raised decking 2.8m wide by 4.9m long but waiting for the stud work timber.

I am going to use 2" x 9" cut down to 2" x 75mm but require my neigbour help has he is supplying the timber and has a table saw to cut to the required width.

I think V-groove casters and inverted angle iron are the way to go with heavy roofs. My 8' x 10' fiberglass shingled roof rolls effortlessly once it gets going. Plus, I love the sound of that roar.....

Aoraki.....that's a very nice rolling track setup! I'll bet it produces a sweet sounding rumble as it glides. :)

I went with a simple inverted angle iron from a local metal welder. He sold me two lengths of 16' angle irons at a steal for only $20 total.

Many thanks for the replies, found one supplier of FAC gate track and grooved wheels.

Now have a garage full of 5" x 9" planks cut down to the right lengths and I hope to cut to correct widths on Sunday.
