Ha emissions and DSLR

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

I've read some stuff about enhancing Ha emissions using DSLR, withtout Ha filters, by using R channel as luminance and combine it with the RGB... But i didn't quite get it all.

Do u mean that after a normal session you can pick the R channel from the TIFF stacked image and re-combine it again with the RGB final pic in order to enhance the Ha emissions? or do you take subs with only Red channel (if that is possible with a DSLR)?

Can you do this in Photoshop or you need a different software, like PixInsight? (i've seen it somewhere on a topic)

Whats the best way to gather more Ha info with a DSLR?

Thanks in advance

Cheers,

Rui
