Barnard's Star Re-visited.

Recommended Posts

I first observed Barnard's Star back in 1989 and did another observation in June 1996.

On the 28th of June, I got an evening of clear skies (I know, I couldn't believe it either) to revisit it.

I took a few subs with my Nikon D5100 and stacked them.

Despite some faint twilight in the sky the stars recorded quite well.

I have annotated the image with the position shown in Burnham's Celestial Handbook in July 1960.

I have also shown the position from my observation in June 1996 as well as its position on the image taken that night.

It's moving well.

You just taught me something I never knew :)

I neve realised any star in the sky had such a drastic movement like that. Going to have to read up on it.

Nice work :)

Sent from a Galaxy S 2 far away.
