Uranus and Mars

I managed to find Uranus in Aquarius this evening. Nearly overlooked it as it looked quite star-like at low power. At 100x and above you could see it had a tiny (3.6 arc sec) blue disk and was definately not stella. I've only seen Uranus once before and that was 20+ years ago so it's very nice to pin it down again.

Also managed a peek at Mars as it rose in the East. Small disk (bigger thant Uranus though !) showing a slight phase I think. At 200x I think I could see suggestions of markings on the disk and suggestions of a pole cap.

Yep, I could def. make out a phase and the polar cap last night on Mars but couldn't see any markings.

Thanks Gaz - I'm glad I wasn't imagining the phase and pole cap !.
