Is this ok for solar system stuff

I have seen this on Ebay and was wondering if it is worth having as a back up / holiday scope? basically is it serious scope?

I wont pay too much for it but I'm considering it as a scope to put on my balcony when I don't have time to take the Dob out to a dark site.

I would put it my EQ2 mount that has a motor on the RA axis , not use the mount that it comes with.

If the optics are good and it's back up scope / grab and go

It's a good scope for widefield, deep sky etc but will struggle a bit at high power (ie: over 100x) on the planets because of the chromatic aberration (false colour) that the design produces. The mount it's on (AZ-3) is actually quite good for that size scope and needs no alignment.

I like the idea of a back up for use on my balcony as it faces East and I get planets nearly all year round. Too much light pollution for dso observing.

It looks to me like a Skywatcher Startravel 102 EQ1, like this one from OVL:

OVL want £209 for it so the one on Ebay looks like a good buy if it suits your needs. I suspect it is achromatic so colour fringing might be an issue.
