Atik 16IC Guider. Which guiding software ??

Have just bought one of these to replace my QHY5 I know there are people on here using them for guiding. I'm just wondering what software they use PHD, MaximDL etc. I've seen it mentioned that due to it being USB 1.1 the refresh rate in PHD is a bit slow. Is this correct ?

I will be using this with my ST80 and I'm assuming I'm going to need to use an extension to get focus with the QHY5 I just used a de-lensed Barlow

Is this also the case with the atik or does it need more ??

Although I have the QHY5 on at the moment I do also use an Atik16iC for guiding. From memory the focus is about the same and yes you will still need an extension tube.

I've always found it a bit quicker using PHD but am using Maxim now. I need to swap over to the 16ic so have no experince of it with Maxim.

I use the ATiK16ic with PHD and AstroArt5 - no issues....

Yes, you'll need a similar spacer.

Like Ken I use a 16ic in AstroArt 5. It needs only one de-lensed Barlow. My Lodestar needs two.

I, too, have had no problems guiding with Atik & ST80.

I am using Maxim.
