alt bearings on 200p

Hello, quick question on the 4 alt bearings that fasten to the sides of the rocker box. Are these supposed to be screwed in so they don't move or are they supposed to rotate as you move the scope up and down?

the white plastic ones ? they dont move if it's those your on about.

Put some grease on them but wipe most of it off as you only need a thin film on them. Makes the Alt movement smoother.

I find when i tightened the tension on mine to the point it was usable, it wasnt even on those rollers, but rather squashed inbetween the two side boards.

I recently added some "teflon gaming mouse tape" around the red rings, and now its perfect. Nice and smooth no matter how much i crank up the tension.

Red rings? I also find that the ota gets squashed between the boards, and doesn't rest on the 4 screw-in bearings. As a matter of interest, where did you get the tape from?

Just a thought, what abbot getting some thin laminate edging strips and wrapping them round the 2 black bearings on the ota, do you think this would work?

having trouble finding laminate strips so will try the tape i think.

Thats exactly the stuff i got. It's tough to peel off its paper, so be careful you dont stretch and wrinkle it as you do so.
