First time M57

Here's my first M57.

NexStar 4SE, 10 x 20 second stills at ISO 6400 on a Canon EOS 500D, stacked in RegiStax 5.1-talk about using all the wrong kit.

Nice image. Did you use the in camera noise reduction or was it turned off?

Presumably this was taken ashore as opposed to on HMS Troutbridge!!

I like that it's not far away from how it looks visually in a large Dob. Have a go with Deep Sky Stacker rather than Registax. Also free and better for this sort of thing. Keep it up, the more subs, the better especially if you are limited to short exposures.

It is now.

With Mr Phillips' navigation Troutbridge [the only Royal Navy ship with two 'blunt ends'] is usually stable enough.

Even with the manual I am having problems with DSS, hence the use of RegiStax.
