For planetary work, the surprisingly affordable Pentax XF 8.5 I have is outstanding. It distinctly outperformed the Radian 8mm. I am gunning for a XW 7 as well, and might even replace the Radian 10 by either a Pentax XW 10 or Delos 10. Note that my scope is much slower than yours, and your 7mm corresponds to my old 14mm Meade UWA (excellent EP, quite alround, very good on globulars and OK for planets on nights of poor seeing). I now have replaced that by the 12 and 17mm T4 Naglers: brilliant EPs for people who have to observe with glasses.

Finally got my first light with my naglers and all I can say is wow

First view of Saturn was absolutely amazing the most detail I've ever seen

And as for clarity

Then turned to m13....... Now let me just clarify that this was at 10pm so the sky was not totally dark even so still was able to pick out individual stars

All of this was seen with no cool down time, can't wait till winter
