It could be worth trying, but as you point out, it is the cheap option and I don't think it will perform very well. A better option would be to get a couple of plossls, say the 32mm and a 10mm to cover both higher and lower magnifications, that's your best cheap options, see here: http://www.firstlightoptics.com/skywatcher-eyepieces/skywatcher-sp-plossl-eyepieces.html Alternatively, if you have a bit more to spend then the BST Explorers/Starguiders are thoroughly recommended and a step up from the plossls, found here: http://www.skysthelimit.org.uk/telescope%20eyepieces.html They have a better FoV than the plossls and work well in the 200P f/5 as I can attest.

I tried a (resonably priced) zoom once and didn't like it at all. Too narrow FOV and hard to look into. Much preferred the 10 and 25mm plossl lenses which came with the scope (so that's saying something!) and can be bought very cheaply (people usually have spares lying around). Zoom is just for convenience and you have to pay a lot to get a decent one, IMO.
