Carol Vorderman!

Yummy choice :grin:

Sir Patrick Moore and Brian Cox both peaked my interest in buying a telescope and getting me into astronomy.

Leonardo Da Vinci, Isaac Newton and one of my heroes Joseph Kittinger. Though he wasn't technically a scientist, what he did was in the name of science and definately helped NASA by showing what the human body could withstand outside the atmosphere.

Is no one going to mention Heather Couper? Female astronomer who was on TV in the 80's and doing programs about space and astronomy before Brian Cox left school.
