New synscan beta version with polar alignment routine

I see that there is a new update available for the Skywatcher synscan hand controller that includes a routine to enhance polar alignment.

Has anyone tried it yet?

Thanks Andy.... I have just read through the thread. Very interesting

I loaded the new firmware yesterday but not without some difficulty.

It may interest others to know that my laptop running Vista crashed everytime I attempted to upload the firmware despite trying every possible combination of options. As a last resort I loaded the relevant files to the wife's Windows7 laptop and tried the update again. It worked perfect ,first time, and makes me wonder if some of the other little niggles that I get are down to Vista and not my little grey cells.
