as earlier thread re ra/dec . i have 2 mounts to go for. i have a 8in skywatcher linner 200p. i will be please to here anyones input, for pros and cons for both.

Hi. Eq5 will take max 9kg .heq5 18kg max.your better off with the latter of the two.if you start to take pics camera t adapters guide scope guide cam and bits will soon bump weight up quite fast

If even there is a slight glimmer of a thought thet you will end up imaging then its got to be the HEQ5....... Much easier to get to work guiding etc, carries much more weight and generally is more acurately made.

If visual is your thing then the EQ5 will do a great job.

Then again, it could be down to budget.....

no comparison heq5 all the way, apart from if you can afford an neq6 that is

Don't forget the 200P Skyliner is also even longer than the 200P Explorer.

I personally wouldn't want to put it on the EQ5, and I'd equally personally want to save for the NEQ6
