EQ5 MOUNT RA/DEC PHOTOS

I'm thinking of getting the EQ5 mount later this year i want to upgrade from the dob mount . now i cant see where the RA/DEC markings are on the head if you dont mind

could someone who has this mount please post a pic or 2 so i may see thease. if its not to much trouble

I haven't any photos of an EQ5, most EQ mounts have a similar setup anyway. The RA setting circles are located at the rear of the mount around the pole finderscope. The DEC axis circles are usually just under the dovetail puck.

I've never used mine, the EQ5 markings are not that accurate. The HEQ5 is different again and far more accurate. There are photo's on 'The Astronomy Shed' site, ok?

The setting circles on EQ5 and the original GP weren't accurate enough for them to be use as setting circles. The RA circle is useful only for polar alignment.

It looks like they originally planned to use vernier scales for those setting circles but gave up before they started production.
