Can anyone post a few links on how to modify my mount. If I breathe on it the vibrations drive me nuts. Ideally I'd like a vixen GEM or EQ4/5 but my bank manager wont allow it lol. Any suggestions. CLEAR SKIES:clouds1:

Sorry its a CG3 Mount but still requires some SERIOUS mods

Not quite as wobbly as an EQ1 but not the most stable. Assuming everything is properly tighteneed, the first thing to do is make sure the scope is as well balanced as possible in both axes. Once it is, about the only other thing you can do is mass damping. Bricks on the accessory tray or a bucket of water or sand suspended from a strap around the shoulders of the tripod. Might help a bit.
