Barr Beacon MeteorWatch

Hi Folks,

Just wanted to extend the invitation to any of you in the Midlands to come along to MeteorWatch on Friday night (20th) at Barr Beacon, Walsall. We're watching the Lyrids (weather permitting) from the area's highest point.

Its free and open to all - I am opening the Memorial Car Park on the corner of Bridle Lane & Beacon Road from 8.30pm. The event is 9pm - 11pm.

I hope this damn rain and cloudy skies clear for tomorrow! It'll be my first proper "congregate with others" meteor watch. I think the weather has a conspiracy whereby astronomical events = clouds LOL

weather looking OK on weather channel app for android, clear all night, get in!! Are we allowed to take telescopes?

I can see some blue sky! It's like the weather is teasing us saying "I'll show you what you wanted............ but not for long". Grrr!! LOL

Ours was blue 30 min ago, it's now storm black !

It's actually clearing really well here in Netherton (near Dudley and Brierley Hill) but I have no idea what it's like at Barr Beacon :-(
