Focus problem

Could anyone explain why I cant quite get my new 26mm Meade ep to focus please ? Its almost as if the focus tube isn't long enough. If that is the case then WHY is it not long enough. Or could the scope need to be better collimated ? I can get round the problem by not putting the ep all the way in but its hardly best practice.

Not all EPs can focus in all focusers. It's down to back focus distance.

Sounds like you just need a small extension tube (check out astroboot) to resolve the problem

Of course it never hurts to verify your collimation, but if that was the issue I would expect you to bounce away from seeming focus either side of it, not at the end of drawtube travel.

Neither of my panoptics come to focus in my dob. I use parfocal rings to stand the eyepiece off a little from the focused. Google astroboot...

Just noticed that the ep has 'LP' stamped on it. Would that have any bearing on the focus problem ?
