Mak 127 + dslr

Recommended Posts

Hi

Just a quick question, put my kit together with dslr in prime focus without the diagnal.

Set camera to live view and focus, looks pretty sharp in the live view but not so sharp on final image.

Is there something im missing ? This was a terestrial test as its daylight.

Kit - mak 127 + nikon d300 + t mount adaptor and 1.25 tube + eq5 mount.

Cheers

Paul

Hi

Havent got out much but done saturn a week ago and was amazed.

Got couple of eyepieces now, vixen npl 30 & 15mm.

Looking for a tal 2x barlow in stock somewhere.

I went manual with skymax 127 plus eq5 (now solid mount with this scope).

Had to think about that ! ... its not in the menus its on the dial at the left of the camera, the one you turn for live view, self timer etc. Turn it all the way round to mu.

One click on shutter release lifts the mirror, let it settle a few seconds then the next click takes the picture without the mirror slapping up and down vibratin the camera

Good luck !

took this moon pic like it

Great pic there and thanks for the info. Roll on moon showing its face again.

How do you focus then ?

Focussed first with Bahitov , then used a cable release with mirror lock up to stop vibration. Used iso 800 to get 1/320 second shutter speed ( the moons pretty bright)

Camera was connected via 2 x barlow and t-ring adaptor

You wouldn't need a barlow to get the camera to focus. maks a a wide focus ranne. Unless you wanted to
