Canon announce EOS 60Da

Canon have announced the Astrophotography specific 60Da.

"Designed specifically for astrophotography, the EOS 60Da is more sensitive to infrared light thanks to a modified low-pass filter that sits in front of the camera’s 18-megapixel CMOS sensor."

Very poor camera when you have seen the results.

And for the price there are way better camera's in the same range.

Seems pretty daft to me. Too many pixels, too small pixels, no cooling and not 16 Bit.

The point about DSLR astrophotography is that it's a cheap way to get to get a large chip. A CCD will simply eat it for breakfast.
