Globular Fest

Was going to try to image as many globular clusters as possible tonight (they really do fascinate me) but cloud has beaten me. Anyway its nice to see a few of them side by side for comparison. First time I have seen the lesser known Hercules Glob NGC 6229. This one is about 100,000 LY away. M13 (Hercules), M92 (Hercules), NGC 6229 (Hercules), M3 (Canes Venatici), M5 (Serpens) and M53 (Coma Berenices). All taken with Watec 120N camera on Celestron CPC 1100. All AVIs 20 - 30 seconds at 25 fps. Stacked in Registax 5 and minimal processing in Photoshop.

Hi Southernman

I do envy you the Omega Centauri globular (does it have a central black hole?). Presumably we do share some such as the lovely ones in Ophiuchus (M9, M10, M12, M14 etc.). What is the most distant one you've seen?
