Anybody tell me what this is?

hi, this assembly came with my scope, i know the top bit is a dovetail clamp but the thing it is fastened to i havnt seen before! .. any ideas?

Logo tells me the dovetail mount (well the top bit) is from here.

Side arm from a Giro Alt/Az mount?

It's for adding a second scope mounting to a Giro Alt-Az mount. This is the latest version but yours is essentially the same.

Do those grub screws on the "neck" section fasten onto a 20mm counterweight bar? This looks very similar to the "Telepack" thing I bought from Bern at MA to fit a camera or small scope on the counterweight bar of my GP mount.
